Recycle

Drop-off hours:
Individuals, businesses, and schools should stop at our store located in the Goodyear building at 28 River Street, Windsor, VT, during business hours. More detailed directions are available here. A volunteer will assist with unloading and weighing the computer equipment to be recycled.

Why not toss them?
Old computers should not be put in the trash. They're full of lead, mercury, and other toxic materials. In many states, it's illegal to throw old computers away. They also contain valuable materials such as steel, plastics, and gold that can be recycled and used again. Old computers, instead, should be brought to WinCycle! Take a look at our statistics.

Working Computers
If the computer is still usable, we'll erase all information stored on it and refurbish it for resale. Rest assured, your private data is erased securely. Read our policy below.

Non-working computers
VCRs, video games, satellite receivers
Microwaves
Televisions
Non-refrigeration appliances
(e.g. washing machines, dishwashers)
If the equipment can't be refurbished, we'll take out usable parts and send the rest to be recycled in an environmentally-friendly manner.
We do NOT accept refrigeration appliances, e.g. air conditioners, fridges, or freezers.

Please call ahead for large items so our crew can be ready to help you unload.

Recycling Fee
WinCycle charges a tax-deductible recycling fee of $0.30 per pound for all electronic equipment brought to us. This recycling fee helps cover the cost of preparing equipment for recycling or for sale. This recycling fee also helps cover the recycling fees and operating costs that WinCycle must pay.
